Makhsoom Luxury’s take on the 2014 Grammys-the stars’ fashion do’s and don’ts

By | January 27, 2014

At makhsoom luxury we love the grammy’s and not just because we love music, which we’re sure you do too,  but also because it’s a chance for some of our favorite celebrities and yours to let their outrageous fashion senses fly. Here’s our take on the celebrities’ fashion choices:

Best dressed:

giuliana-300x519

Giuliana Rancic in Alex Perry. One word: GORGEOUS! Giuliana’s burnt-orange and nude gown was sleek, elaborate and just so beautiful. We loved every inch of it!

Just right for the Grammys:

(From left to right):

For any other night this dress would have been way too much but we thought Katy Perry took the right amount of risk, wearing a music score dress designed by Valentino. Afterall she was nominated for 11 grammy awards! Congrats Katy.

Anna Kendrick in Azarro: We thought this dress showcased just the right amount of sex appeal. The girly lavender color provided the perfect balance of naught and nice for the grammys.

Fashion Foreward:

zendaya coleman

Zendaya Coleman’s flashy Emanuel Ungaro ensemble definitely caught our attention. We loved the teal and black polka dotted skirt, not to mention her amazingly minimalist black heels and box clutch, but wished that she substituted her sheer black blouse with over- sized pockets for one without pockets, to make it look more simple and not as much cluttered.

Best couple:

pharrelpharrell-williams-paul-mccartneybeyonce and jayz

 (From left to right):

We think Pharrell Williams and and wife Helen Lasichanh (left) looked super cute. We were pleasantly surprised when Pharrell chose to wear this whimsical hat which reminded us of Canada’s very own royal Canadian mounted police. The hat had so much personality it got its own twitter account. We also loved wife Helen’s rocker-chic, well-fitting black and white ensemble-perfect for the Grammy’s!

What a classic picture (right). Pharrell Williams with the legendary Paul McCartney looking as young as ever. Both gentleman were looking so elegant and stylish don’t you agree?!

Beyonce and Jay Z perform on stage for thr 56th Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Jan. 26, 2014.

Not risky enough:

Taylor-Swift-3065361

Even though Taylor looked beautiful in her clinging gold with sparkling silver mesh overlay, we felt like she should have taken more risk, and chosen a more playful ensemble for the Grammy’s! Nice try though!

Fashion faux pas:

Makhsoom Luxury was so disappointed with Beyonce’s choice for the 2014 Grammys. Beyonce is a sensation, but this sheer Michael Costello dress didn’t show off her star power. It drowned her famous curves in tulle and way too much lace for our liking.

Madonna also made our worst-dressed list for her pimp-inspired suit. The Queen of Pop accessorized her black Ralph Lauren ensemble with a cane, a top hat and a one fingerless, sparkly silver glove. While we do think it’s adorable that she and son David Banda wore matching outfits on the red carpet, we wish she wore something little more feminine to show off her timeless style and curves.

Even though we love singer Sara Bareilles we did not love her Grammy look at all! Her odd, feather-covered gown, featuring a high-low hem along with her braided hair just look messy to us.

Worst Dressed:

nadeea-volianova

Seriously! We hated this look so much, that we decided to feature it in its own category! Nadeea is an electronic artist famous for her horrible choice of Grammy’s outfits, and this year she did not disappoint. She looked as if she was trying too hard to stand out in this cheap-looking, spoiled child’s baby blue dress, knee-high shredded sandals boots and equally shredded hair.  We felt she turned heads for all the wrong reasons, don’t you agree?
